Ahhhh! A few days ago I was lucky enough to go and see one of my all time favourite bands play live at the O2 Arena London!
I have so much love for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and I was so excited when I found out that my auntie had got me tickets to go and see them on their 2016 UK Tour following their release of 'The Getaway' (a frickin' amazing album). After spending the day at Sixth Form, I quickly got ready at home, met my mum, and headed up to the O2 Arena!
The journey was so quick and easy, and we were soon at the O2. We decided to get up there early so that we could have a meal and drink before the concert. We really liked the look of Cabana, The Brasilian Grill, so we went inside. My mum and I ordered grilled kebabs which were delicious, and we had a lovely time. The restaurant was really quirky and unique, and I loved the fact that their background music was the RHCP!
After our kebabs and cocktails we made our way into the arena. We passed through security and decided to head straight to the merch stand. I loved the simple black logo design t-shirt, so I decided to treat myself to one.
It was time to take our seats so we bought some drinks and made ourselves comfortable. I was really happy with my seat as, even though I would have preferred to be standing, I had a brilliant view of the stage. Annoyingly the view was much better than it looks in the photos I took, because for some reason IPhone cameras always zoom out slightly!
Baby Metal were the warm up act for the RHCP and I was very apprehensive about their performance because I had researched into to them prior to their gig, and I must admit I'm not a death metal or a japanese music fan. I have never listened to or witnessed such a unique band before, and I was weirdly intrigued and entertained by the performance - but I won't be adding of their songs to my Spotify anytime soon...
Baby Metal had finished their performance and it was soon time for The Chili Peppers!! Ahhhh!

HEY
LOOK AROUND
GO ROBOT
PARALLEL UNIVERSE
SICK LOVE
AEROPLANE
GOODBYE ANGELS
SUCK MY KISS

DREAMS OF A SAMURAI
GIVE IT AWAY
And yes The Red Hot Chili Peppers were amazing!!
I think everyone should see them live at some point because they were just so good. The way they sound live is just as if they are recording in the studio, but the energy and their performance is just incredible. The lights above the audience were so cool as well. I must admit I was a bit upset with the set list because I was hoping for their classics like Dani California, Californication, Under the Bridge, The Zephyr Song or Can't Stop - but By The Way and Give It Away were just incredible. The atmosphere was amazing, and overall I had a fantastic night.
The worst thing about going to concerts and festivals is the late night and (very) busy journey back home. The slow and packed walk to the tube station, and the endless waiting is just so frustrating - but my auntie had a secret up her sleeve! We decided to take the river cruise along to London Bridge to skip the tube! It was a brilliant idea as The River Thames looked beautiful all light up at night, and it was very relaxing. We arrived at London Bridge relatively quickly, and we just jumped on a train and headed home.
I couldn't believe how amazing my evening was, and I just want to see The Red Hot Chili Peppers all over again! Until next time...
