Love Island Inspired Cocktails

So maybe you've got a Love Island party on Monday for the final of this series of this year's Love Island, or maybe you're looking forward to a night in, or just enjoying the gorgeous weather we're having at the moment in the UK with a delicious cocktail? Well I'm going to share with you 6 of your favourite cocktails recipes but with a Love Island twist...

I am a massive fan of Love Island... just like the whole of the UK at the moment I suppose. I can't believe that this year is nearly over already!

So Monday marks the final of the show on ITV2, and perhaps you're getting together with friends and family, or maybe you're just excited to have a night in watching it - but either way I can't think of any other better way than watching it with a Love Island inspired cocktail?

So in this blog post I am sharing with you 6 super easy, delicious and paradise perfect drinks...

I'VE GOT A TEXT ON THE BEACH

(Sex On The Beach)

"I've Got A Text!"
The phrase shouted from the villa everyday.

| RECIPE |

25ml Peach Schnapps
25ml Vodka
50ml Orange Juice
50ml Cranberry Juice

1. Fill a tall glass with ice
2. Pour the measured peach schnapps, vodka, orange juice and cranberry juice over the ice
3. Stir and enjoy with a (reusable) plastic straw and stirrer

LOVE ISLAND ICED TEA

(Long Island Iced Tea)

Just because it's Love Island!

| RECIPE |

17.5ml Spiced Rum
17.5ml Vodka
17.5ml Dry Gin
17.5ml Tequila
17.5ml Orange Liqueur
17.5ml Sugar Syrup
17.5ml Lemon Juice
17.5ml Lime Juice
Cola
Lemon Slice

1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice
2. Add the spiced rum, vodka, gin, tequila, orange liqueur, sugar syrup, lemon and lime juice.
3. Shake and strain into a tall ice-filled glass
4. Top the glass with cola
5. Add a slice of lemon to garnish and serve

WATERMELON PINA OH HELL-ADA

(Pina Colada)

Of course inspired by Dr Alex's phrase for any situation - Oh Hell.

| RECIPE |

100ml Pineapple Juice

50ml White Rum

3 tbsp. Coconut Milk

Quarter of a Small Watermelon

Ice

1. Take a smoothie maker or blender, and blend together all the ingredients listed above except the ice.
2. If you need to add more watermelon to create a pinker colour then do so.
3. Pour the mixture into glasses, add ice and garnish with a slice of watermelon.

PASSIONFRUIT MUGGY-TO

(Mojito)

Celebrating the many muggy moments throughout the series.

| RECIPE |
4 tbsp. Lime Juice
1 tbsp. Sugar
4 Sprigs of Mint Leaves
2 tbsp. Passionfruit Puree
50ml White Rum
Soda Water
Ice

1. Fill a glass with ice
2. Crush the mint leaves and pop them into the glass
3. Add the lime juice, sugar, passionfruit puree and white rum
4. Top the glass with soda water
5. Serve with a sprig of mint leaves and a stirrer

SNAKEY BITE

(Snake Bite)

Hmmm there has definitely been some snaky behaviour on Love Island this series, just like every year.

1/2 Pint Beer (Lager or Stout)
1/2 Hard Cider
Blackcurrant Syrup

1. Pour the cider into a glass first
2. Then add the beer
3. Finish with a dash of blackcurrant syrup
4. Serve

MAI TAI ON PAPER

(Mai Tai)

"They're definitely my type on paper"
Said every time a new islander walks in.

| RECIPE |

2 tsps. Almond Syrup
2 tsps. Lime Juice
60ml Orange Juice
60ml Pineapple Juice
30ml Light Rum
30ml Dark Rum
Pineapple Slice
Ice

1. Fill a glass with ice
2. Add the almond syrup, lime juice, orange juice, pineapple juice and spiced rum.
3. Stir
4. Serve with a slice of pineapple as a garnish
