Welcome to my guide to Walt Disney Resort, Orlando Florida!
This is the second part of my 2 part series based on the 3 weeks I spent in Orlando, Florida this August. I will explore everything I got up to, as well as some tips and tricks, and a few things I'd love to do next time I go!

Disney's Hollywood Studios
The world of cinema, movies, television, music and theatre.
My Top 5 Must-Do Rides
1. The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
2. Rock n Roll Rollercoaster with Aerosmith
3. Toy Story Mania!
4. Muppet Vision 3D
5. Star Tours - The Adventures Continue
Shows and Entertainment
Obviously in the world of cinema, theatre and movies there are plenty of shows and entertainment for you to enjoy. For example we enjoyed watching Beauty and The Beast Live on Stage. A brilliant performance of the film with all the classic songs.
In addition there is an Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular which is brilliant, and For The First Time in Forever: A Frozen Celebration is a singalong Frozen show featuring all of the songs and characters. There is also Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple, where kids can dress up and learn Jedi training on stage as well as fighting Darth Vader - so cute!
Just like all Disney Parks, in the evening there is an amazing nighttime spectacular called Fantasmic! Sadly I have never seen Fantasmic so this show is certainly something I'd love to see when I visit next time.
Coming Soon
So the new Toy Story Land has just opened and it's amazing. Everything in the land looks as if it is made out of toys! Controversially I don't think the rides are actually as good as the ones in Disneyland Paris, however they do have the amazing Toy Story Mania Ride so... Anyway I'd just like to point out that there is an amazing new area of the park being built that is so exciting. Disney are creating a Star Wars Land in Hollywood Studios to be open in Autumn 2019. It's said to promise everything Star Wars, and from the designs released already it's set to look just like the movies!
Dining & Treats
There are lots of places to eat at in Disney's Hollywood Studios; 50's Prime Time Café, The Hollywood Brown Derby, Hollywood & Vine, SCI-FI Dine-In Theatre Restaurant, and Mama Melrose's Ristorante Italiano.
We stopped off for a cheeky Starbucks in Hollywood Studios, and I bought an Incredibles 2 Themed Cupcake that looked and tasted amazing!
Now a slightly different experience; the Disney water parks. The water parks are just amazing and certainly worth a visit!
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon
The first of the Disney water parks is Typhoon Lagoon. A water park surrounding the theme of a tropical storm and shipwreck, and of course known for it's GIGANTIC wave pool as well as brilliant flumes and water rollercoasters.
My Top 5 Water Rides
1. Crush n Gusher
2. Humunga Kowabunga
3. Miss Adventure Falls
4. Mayday Falls
5. Storm Slides
Wave Pool & Lazy River
One of the best things about Typhoon Lagoon is of course the HUGE wave in the main pool. The tidal wave sweeps across the main pool every now and then and it's brilliant. I could spend hours in the deep end swimming with the wave and being dragged and thrown around everywhere haha!
A firm family favourite, the lazy river that takes you all around the park. So relaxing.
Dining & Treats
There are plenty of food outlets selling counter service food across the park, as well as ice creams and icy drinks.
Disney's Blizzard Beach
The second of the Disney water parks, surrounding the theme of a melting avalanche and freezing blizzard.
My Top 5 Water Rides
1. Summit Plummet
2. Slusher Gusher
3. Downhill Double Dipper
4. Toboggan Racers
5. Runoff Rapids
Wave Pool & Lazy River
Just like Typhoon Lagoon, there is a wave pool and lazy river at Blizzard Beach. The Lazy River is just as relaxing, however the wave pool has less huge waves, but still fun to bob about in.
Summit Plummet
Summet Plummet throws you down a near vertical 120-foot slope. The speed you fly down the 12 stories is unbelievable. Certainly a ride that you need to experience at least once!
Dining & Treats
Just like Typhoon Lagoon, there are plenty of eating places all around the park to grab lunch, dinner or snacks!
Tips and Tricks For Walt Disney Resort
1. Get up and head to the parks early.
I can't rave about this enough. Even though it may be hard to wake up in the mornings, it makes your Disney experience so much more enjoyable. Every time we reached the parks early we were able to walk straight onto rides that later on in the day would have queues for up to 1 or 2 hours. This meant we could get on rides without queueing and sometimes twice or three times even.
2. Fastpass
This brings me to the Fastpass opportunity available to you. Fastpass tickets means that you take an alternative and faster queue for rides at designated times during the day. You need to book these Fastpass tickets in advance though (months in advance) to secure the best attractions that book up quickly.
3. Child Swap
If you're travelling with your family and you have a few younger members with you, then you can use the Child Swap opportunity available to you. In a nutshell, some members of the family can experience the ride whilst one adult stays with the child, and then that adult can ride the attraction straight away afterwards without queueing again. That adult can also bring two people with them.
4. Memory Maker
Disney offers the Memory Maker which entitles you to unlimited photographs from Photopass Photographers all around the park, as well as all photographs taken with characters and on the attractions. The photos can be scanned on to your Disney wristband or on the app and they link to your Disney Experience account. They can be downloaded straight away.
5. Visit The Parks At Night
At night all the parks look beautiful all lit up, and they also all have their own evening nighttime performance. In addition, the temperature is generally cooler at night, and the queues are very low as people have either gone home already or are watching the nighttime performance.
6. Be Prepared For Heat & Rain
In your rucksack pack; a fan and water sprayer, bottles of water, frozen bottles of water, suncream, poncho, and umbrella.
7. Download The App
I can't imagine doing Disney World without the app. The app contains all the information that you need when you're there. Including attraction queue times, maps, reservation information, Fastpass tickets, showtimes, and all your Memory Maker photos.
